Chase Maddox - Police Officer Fatality - Georgia

Police Officer Chase Maddox, age 26, died in the line of duty on February 9, 2018, in Locust Grove, Georgia.

Officer Maddox was a member of the Locust Grove Police Department. He had over 4 years of service. 

Locust Grove is located approximately 36 miles southeast of Atlanta.

Deputy's from the Henry County Sheriff's Office were attempting to serve a warrant on a man in Locust Grove. He had failed to appear in municipal court. 

The man resisted arrest. Chase showed up in response to their call for assistance. The man opened fire. All three officers were shot.

Tragically, Chase was fatally wounded and succumbed to his injuries.

The shooter was shot and killed by deputies.

The members of the Locust Grove Police Department are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Chase was a bright young man who had a future in law enforcement. He will be forever remembered.

Chase's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Chase is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his expectant wife, Alex; and a son.
