Lee Smith - U.S. Military Fatality - Iraq

Lee Smith
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lee M. Smith, age 35, of Arlington, Texas, died on November 11, 2017, at Camp Taji, Iraq.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Smith was assigned to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Tragically, Lee died from injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation.

Lee was serving in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the U.S. Military operation against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Lee's military comrades at Fort Campbell are in mourning over the death of their brother. Lee died in the service of his country. He will be forever remembered.

Lee's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Lee is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to America, Lee. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Light a candle for Lee. Light his way to Heaven.
Pray for all who die in a foreign country, far from their loved ones.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Lee is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
