Aaron Allan - Police Officer Fatality - Indiana

Aaron Allan
Lieutenant Aaron Allan, age 38, died in the line of duty on July 27, 2017, at a hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Lieutenant Allan was a member of the Southport Police Department. He had six years of service with the Department and 20 years of service in law enforcement.

It has been reported that the Southport Police Department is comprised of about 30 volunteer officers who work with full police powers but without pay.

Sometime before 3:00 p.m., Aaron responded to a report of a crashed vehicle at an intersection in Homecroft.

Aaron and an officer from Homecroft arrived at the scene and started to check on the two occupants who were inside the crashed upside-down vehicle. One of the occupants started shooting and Aaron was shot multiple times.

Aaron was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

An exchange of gunfire took place and one of the vehicle occupants was wounded. Both of the vehicle occupants were taken into custody. James Brown, age 28, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Michael, Patron Saint of the Police, pray for
Aaron and for those who have lost him.
A funding site has been set up to help Aaron's family with expenses.

In 2015, Aaron had been named Officer of the Year. He had wanted to be a police officer since he was a kid.

The members of the Southport Police Department are in mourning over the death of their brother. Aaron was a hard worker who died in the service of the community. He will be forever remembered.

Aaron's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was kind in spirit and helpful to others. He loved his family. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Aaron is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and children.

Thank you for your service to the community, Aaron.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Aaron is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
