Trooper Ryan Albin, age 37, died in the line of duty on June 28, 2017, at a hospital in Illinois.

Trooper Albin was a member of the Illinois State Police. He was a canine handler in District 6 in Pontiac. He had 11 and one-half years of service

In the mid-afternoon, Ryan was travelling on highway I-74 in the vicinity of Farmer City. He was slowing down in a construction zone when his patrol car was struck from behind by a commercial vehicle.

The canine, Biko, received only minor injuries.

Michael, Patron Saint of the
Police, pray for Ryan and for
those who have lost him.
The cause of the tragic accident is under investigation.

The members of the Illinois State Police are in mourning over the death of their brother. He will be forever remembered.
