Todd Lobraico Jr. - U.S. Military

Staff Sgt. Todd J. Lobraico Jr., age 22, of New Fairfield, Connecticut, died on September 5, 2013, from wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire near Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 105th Security Forces Squadron at Stewart Air National Guard Base, New York.

Todd was known as TJ to his family and friends.

Todd graduated in 2008 from New Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Connecticut. He enlisted in the Army in June of 2008.

Todd had deployed to Afghanistan at the end of June, 2012. His unit is trained to secure air bases and trains and fights much like Army infantry. This was his second overseas deployment. He had deployed to Iraq from December 2010 to June 2011.

Todd's awards include the Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, and the New York State Humane Service Medal.

Military officials stated that he did his job professionally and with courage. He will be missed by all who served with him and knew him.

popular and well respected. He will be greatly missed.  He is also described as happy, confident and intelligent.

Family members stated that being a part of the military was something that he had always wanted to do. His dog, Gus, and his tricked-out Subaru STI were his pride and joy.

Todd is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father, Todd Lobraico Sr., and his mother, Linda Rohatsch.

Thank you for serving, Todd. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Todd.

Pray that Todd is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
