Luke Monahan

Pfc. Luke Monahan, age 19, died in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 28, 2011. He fell to his death from a 17th floor sun deck of a hotel in Honolulu. He and his fellow Marines were on a four-day holiday break for Memorial Day.

Luke was with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines. He was a 2010 graduate of Rancho Del Mar Continuation School and enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2010 and was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines at the Hawaiian base in January of 2011. He was set to be deployed to Afghanistan this fall.

Luke was from Rancho Palos Verdes, California. 

He is survived by numerous loving family members including his father, Terrance. 

The fact that Luke's death was accidental and not in combat, makes his loss no less devastating to his family and loved ones.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Luke Monahan is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
